Bali Major Groups - Day 2 Results

News
Published at: 2023-06-30 11:47:00

The second day of the Bali Major Group Stage has concluded. Team Liquid look to secure their Upper Bracket slot, Azure Ray falls off, and Evil Geniuses continue to struggle. Here’s a quick recap of what happened on Day 2!

Group A

In Group A, Team Liquid went with a 4-0 run on the second day, bringing their record to an impressive 7-1 score. They have a very high chance of securing their spot in the Upper Bracket. It looks like their performance on DreamLeague Season 20 was just a fluke!

The closest team to Team Liquid is Tundra Esports, who went from a 2-2 record on Day 1 to a 5-3 record on Day 2.

Both Southeast Asian teams continue to struggle, as Blacklist International and Execration only have 2 and 1 wins, respectively. They need to step it up big time on Day 3 to keep their Bali Major dreams alive.

Group B

As we’ve come to expect, Gaimin Gladiators are the leaders of Group B, with a record of 6-2. Quest Esports and BetBoom Team follow them closely behind, both with a 5-1 score.

Surprisingly, Nouns are still in the running for Top 4, as they are currently sitting with a score of 4-4, the same as PSG.LGD.

The most surprising thing about the whole tournament is that Evil Geniuses are on the brink of elimination. The South American giants have an abysmal score of 1-7, even lower than BLEED Esports, with a score of 1-5.

Games To Watch

Check out some of the craziest games of Day 2 of the Bali Major!

9 Pandas vs. Nouns - Game 1

Nouns have made an impressive showing in the Bali Major, exceeding everyone’s expectations. However, 9 Pandas intended to show they were still the superior team in Game 1. The CIS roster took complete control over the entire game until they made a massive throw at the 50-minute mark.

The North American team could come back from a 23,000 gold deficit through a fantastic sequence of events, giving them their fourth win of the tournament.

Team Liquid vs. Team Aster - Game 1

In the first game between Team Liquid and Team Aster, SumaiL got his hands on his favorite Storm Spirit and Nisha on his Ember.

The matchup between the two teams gave fans a very entertaining and back-and-forth Game 1.

However, Team Liquid could turn the game in their favor at 37 minutes and eventually take it 50 minutes in.

Blacklist International vs. Shopify Rebellion - Game 2

The full Filipino roster faced their fellow countrymen, Abed, in their group-stage matchup in an exciting game.

Game 2 of the series was relatively close throughout most of the game, with both teams trading team fights. With the game being very close, it was hard to tell who would come out on top, especially when it lasted 60 minutes.

Soon after Tier 5 neutral items were available for both teams, Shopify Rebellion quickly ended the game in the 62nd minute.

Beastcoast vs. Blacklist International - Game 2

Name a more iconic duo than Southeast Asian teams and going late game. In this series, however, Blacklist were in control of the game, with a 12,000 net worth lead in the 45th minute.

Despite being down in gold, Beastcoast could still make a comeback and end the game before the one-hour mark—a very entertaining game between two aggressive regions.
